This is my first experiance with anything from TYPE-MOON, and quite honestly I have fallen in love with this series, if not for the visuals simply for the horrifyingly beautiful music composed by Yuki Kajiura, whom among other series has also composed Le Portrait de Petite Cossette, Eat-Man, Sound of the Sky, Time of Eve, Madoka Magica, and most notably and her lastest FATE/ZERO.

The story first opens with Shiki, who loves knives by the way, and Mikiya who is her assistant and also a high school student whom follows her around like a little puppy. They work for Toko, who runs Garan No Dou, an investigation agency which deals with supernatural problems. The first movie coming in at a measly 48 minutes, and tells the tale of the Fujou Building, which is a skyscraper which is set for demolition, where these school girls are commiting suicide for no apparent reason, Shiki decides to investigate at the involvement of Toko, and by this point Mikiya is in a coma.

This building and the deaths are linked, but they are not sure how, or why? At she investigates the building we see creepy ghosts, turns out that Kirie Fujou, was responsible for all the problems that have been shown in this first movie, even Mikiya in a coma, and as the movie continues we learn that Kirie is sick with a terminal illness, she is now bedridden and was lonely she wanted these people to keep her company, and that she somehow managed to acquire a spiritual body, which was her standing on the roof of the building with all the other creepy ghosts. The movie ends with Shiki, and Kirie fighting, and Shiki cutting off her arm, but in the end defeating Kirie, and releasing all the souls of the dead girls, and saving Mikiya.

At the end Mikiya gives a speech, to Shiki and Shiki lets him stay the night and eat the haagen-daaz that belongs to him in the freezer.

Audio: Japanese 5.1 LPCM

Crisp, Clear 5.1 LPCM audio gives this movie an amazing sound, the rear channel speakers These movies are not base heavy, but the sound effects do show thru.

Subtitles: English subtitles

The subtitles are good, but I did notice a few mistakes but nothing to really complain about in my opinion.
